Did you know that “data mining” is slang for “data science”?

Hello World,

I’m Michael — better known as Data Mining Mike. I’m a political actor in the intelligence industry and a data scientist — part statistician, part computer scientist — like a chemist, but for data.

I gather, combine, and clean information to make predictions and classifications with cutting-edge machine learning models that outperform traditional approaches.

When you think about data, you think about mining. And when you think about mining, you think about Mike.

I code in Python, SQL, R, HTML, and C++. I can develop almost any machine learning model, engineer pipelines across industries, and deploy at scale. To me, data is an asset class — and I uncover the hidden value in it. From exposing unseen patterns and stories to engineering strategies that make YouTube videos trend, I see the world the way machines do.

Up in the streams there’s a story untold, digital bytes worth more than gold.

Beyond science, I’m a podcaster, blogger, author, and independent journalist. I’ve built media systems like the BloomingBiz Media Network and reverse-engineered social platforms to understand influence and growth.

Before all this, I was a gunfighter in the Marine Corps Infantry — a combat veteran of two wars and two historic battles. I also served in Human Intelligence, where I learned how to extract insights from people as well as machines. That experience sharpened my storytelling, analysis, and leadership — making me internationally tried and true.
